Meet Michael
Michael Eckert, a certified athletic trainer, founded Elevate Movement and Recovery in 2021. He has helped rehabilitate and recondition a wide range of clients from the high school, Division 1, and professional levels from a multitude of sports, ranging from traditional sports including soccer, football, hockey, and track and field to nontraditional sports such as CrossFit, rock climbing, skiing, and cycling.
Michael believes in a holistic, patient-centered approach that gives clients personalized preventative care as well as the education and knowledge to help increase their resilience to future injury. With the combination of an evidence-based approach and unique movement evaluation, he’ll work with you to implement strategies to help address your pain by digging deeper and identifying the root causes. Michael specializes in movement assessment, manual therapy, and corrective exercises and uses all three of these skills to provide the best possible care.
Prior to founding Elevate Movement and Recovery, Michael worked primarily in collegiate athletics. He spent five years as an athletic trainer at the University of Denver, working with the men’s soccer, skiing, and men’s tennis teams. Before moving to Colorado, Michael worked at the University of Maryland where he served as Assistant Athletic Trainer for men’s soccer for three years.
Michael obtained his master’s degree in Exercise Science with a concentration in Strength and Conditioning from the George Washington University in 2011. In addition to his graduate work, he had a season-long internship with the MLS team D.C. United for the 2010 season.
In 2009, Michael graduated from the University of Connecticut, earning a bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training. At UConn, he served as a student athletic trainer for the football and men’s soccer team.
Michael currently resides in Centennial, Colorado with his wife, Brydin, and daughter, Maebry.
